Jodie Marsh

The Boss

Jodie is The Boss. She’s the owner and founder of Fripps Farm. Having wanted an animal sanctuary her whole life, she finally did it in 2020 and started taking in any animal that needed a home. It was her mums passing that made her realise that life is too short and she gave up everything for her life’s dream to rescue animals. Until now she has self-funded everything for the animals using only an Amazon wishlist to help (where people can buy food for the animals - see the “Get Involved” page to help). There isn’t an animal that Jodie doesn’t love. She’s been vegetarian since she was 5 years old and then vegan for the last 4 years. Jodie has truly dedicated herself to the welfare of her animals and they come first over everything in her life. Jodie is the happiest she’s ever been and is only annoyed that she didn’t do this sooner. She is so grateful to her followers for all the support and help they’ve given. Jodie plans to expand the centre and rescue even more animals in the future!!

The Team

John Marsh

The Dad (Reluctant Helper)

John is the reluctant helper at Fripps Farm. He pretends he doesn’t like helping but he secretly loves it, even when he’s being chased by a horny pig or being pecked by a mischievous Arlene emu!! John is Jodie’s dad. John tells everyone Jodie is mad but deep down he’s proud of her and what she’s achieved. John does everything from build shelters for the animals to help with funds for things. He also lends vans to pick things up and regularly comes over to help Jodie with something the animals need. He’s a huge animal lover and his favourite animals on the farm are Mabel the meerkat and Godric the Eagle Owl. John is amazing and Jodie couldn’t have achieved all that she has without his help and support.

Mark

The Builder

Mark is the Fripps Farm builder. Since we moved to the new place he has built every new animal enclosure on site. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he’s a genius at what he does. He goes above and beyond with every enclosure and makes them as safe and comfortable as he can, as well as making them look beautiful (if you’ve seen the meerkat pen then you know what I’m talking about). Mark is a grafter but also an animal lover. His favourite animals at Fripps are the dogs, the skunks and Ron the goat. He can regularly be found cuddling animals when he finishes work for the day. We are so grateful to him for all his hard work and also the fun and laughter he brings to the farm.

Carl Wright

Head of Media and Marketing

Carl is head of media and marketing for Fripps Farm. He designed and built this website (all for free by the way) and he has designed all the merchandise. In his real job he’s head of technology for a wealth management company. In his spare time, he also photographs wildlife. He’s an amazing photographer and has taken many of the photos of the animals at Fripps for this website. He’s a huge animal lover himself, a father of two and a husband to a lovely wife. He’s a true friend and such a massive help. This website wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for him!!

Tony McMahon

Head of Building and Maintenance

Tony is head of building and maintenance. He has built every animal enclosure on the farm and fixed every fence and post imaginable. He’s a wonder. He goes above and beyond and adds little touches that he knows will make Jodie’s life or the animals lives easier. Jodie adores him. He takes great pleasure in seeing the animals go into their new enclosures. His favourite animals are the ponies and he loves little Tinkerbell.

Jack Senior

Head of Animal Welfare

Jack is head of animal welfare. He does so much for Jodie and the farm. He adores all the animals so much and nothing is too much trouble for him. Since baby Emoo broke her beak, he has come over twice daily to help Jodie tube feed her. Jack often turns up with bags of fresh fruit and veg he’s bought himself for the animals. He just loves being with them and cuddling them and feeding them. Jodie couldn’t do all she does without his help. He’s wonderful.

Stephanie Burrows

Deputy Animal Welfare

Steph is deputy head of animal welfare. She has been a godsend to Jodie since they became friends. She is as animal mad as Jodie and has rescued loads of animals herself. She regularly comes to help Jodie on the farm and also donates food regularly. She’s about to do the three peaks challenge and is raising money for Fripps in doing so!! She’s amazing and Jodie and the animals love her!

Manic

Head of Security

Manic is a protection dog who was gifted to Jodie and Fripps Farm by the amazing Darren from Guardians K9 Training Centre in Ipswich. Darren and Jodie became friends when Darren started training Paxton (an unruly rescued Dogue de Bordeaux). When Darren found out about Jodie’s stalker (she has an unhinged obsessed fan who doesn’t leave her alone) he decided to gift Manic to her. Manic is a 4 year old german shepherd and has been in training since he was a puppy. He’s trained to protect Jodie and the animals of Fripps. He is the biggest soppiest dog ever with Jodie but one word from her and he attacks. He follows Jodie everywhere on the farm and never takes his eyes off her. Manic is worth a whopping £20,000 and Darren even has a dog worth £70,000. He supplies dogs to celebrities, footballers, MPs and the police. Darren works closely with the police both in the UK and USA, training their dogs for them. These dogs are better than any burglar alarm, CCTV or anything else. They’re on high alert at all times for anything off key. Jodie has never felt safer than since Manic moved in. He’s an amazing dog and is very much loved by all the Fripps team. He’s as much a worker as all the human staff.
